SEE MISS RODEO TEXAS

Devin Felger

Devin Felger, a New Braunfels native, was crowned Miss Rodeo Texas 2009 on June 26 in San Antonio. Devin entered the pageant as Miss Rodeo Austin Princess and won awards in Horsemanship, Personality, Speech, and Photogenic. For her accomplishment, she will receive a $20,000 scholarship, trophy saddle, trophy buckle and many additional prizes.

Devin, a sophomore at Texas A&M University majoring in Agriculture Leadership, was an attendee of the National Block and Bridle Convention, a member of the College of Ag Freshmen Student Council and played Intramural Football. She is also an active member of the Children of the Republic of Texas, and previously the area VII FFA President, 4-H President and a state qualifier in Business Professionals of America.

A Texas tradition of almost five decades, the selection of Miss Rodeo Texas is based on horsemanship, appearance and personality competition with other finalists from across that great state of Texas. Since the inception of the Miss Rodeo Texas Pageant, Miss Rodeo Texas has served as a vibrant, colorful Goodwill Ambassador of Rodeo, the Official Sport of Texas, working closely with professional rodeos and rodeo associations to keep our western heritage and the western industry alive and flourishing in today's society.

During her reign, Miss Rodeo Texas will travel all over the state encouraging Texas youth to remember the impact that our rich western heritage has had on the development of our state and to educate everyone about the contributions of Texas agriculture in our everyday lives.

Devin will be judging the Pet Show on Saturday morning, signing autographs in the Tough Enough To Wear Pink booth at the rodeo Saturday evening, participating in the Saturday night rodeo Grand Entry and Breast Cancer Survivors Lap, and judging the Best Dressed Western Contest on Sunday afternoon. Come out and see her!
